Juanita Mitchell

Ms. Juanita Mitchell, 88, of 3442 Thompson Road, Bunnlevel, passed away March 2, 2021. She was the 8th of 9 children born to the late Doyle and Carrie Lillie Davis McDougald of Harnett County. She loved church and at an early age, joined the Andrews Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Bunnlevel, where she worked diligently as an usher, choir member, and a class leader. She will be remembered by her sweet and humble spirit.

She is survived by: two sons - Lavon Mitchell, Jr. (Janet) of Bunnlevel, and William McDougald of Fayetteville; one foster son - Dennis McDougald (Carla) of Hephzibah, Georgia; five daughters - Rosa and Temisha McDougald of Bunnlevel, LaNita McDougald (Ronald) and Gilda Mitchell of Erwin, and Louise Spears of the home; 17 grandchildren including Dwayne Mitchell (Antoinette) caretaker, of the home and Rose Campbell (Raymond) caretaker, of Willow Spring; 45 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; a longtime friend - Virginia McLean; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The public viewing will be Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Dafford Funeral Home, Dunn, with members of the family present from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm, with no more than 10 individuals inside at one time. Masks are required to enter and practicing social distancing.

The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, March 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Andrews Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Bunnlevel, with masks required, practicing social distancing, and following the church's guidelines for entrance and capacity. 

Burial will follow in the Mitchell Family Cemetery, Bunnlevel.
