Miss Alene Melvin, 77, of 1080 Roberts Grove Road, Dunn, passed away April 7, 2021. The family will receive friends at the home of Evangelist James Melvin, 507 East Cleveland Street, Dunn. She was born November 21, 1943 in Sampson County, the daughter of the late Albert and Christine Melvin. She was a member of Pleasant Grove FWB Church under the leadership of Pastor Larry Baker, whom she called her big brother.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two brothers - Albert Melvin, Jr. (Beverly) of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Earl Davis Melvin (Deborah) of Newton Grove; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The public viewing will be Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Dafford Funeral Home, Dunn, from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm with no more than 10 individuals inside at one time, practicing social distancing. Masks are required to enter.
The graveside service will be Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn, with no more than 50 people present, practicing social distancing. Masks are required.
