We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Deacon Isaac Byrd, 90, of Linden, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
The family will receive friends at the home of Jerome and Carolyn Western.
Deacon Byrd was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie, and Charles Byrd; his first wife, Jannie Ruth Colvin Byrd; his oldest son, Isaac Byrd Jr.; and four siblings: Charlie Byrd (Ruby), Rosa Blue (Norman), Eloise Robinson (Glenn), and Williard Byrd. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Emily McClean Byrd of Angier, NC; his sister, Roxanne Levy (Rabbi Lawrence) of Queens, New York; and ten adult children: Irvin Byrd of Perris, California; Jackie McCaskill (Ron) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Andrew Byrd (Marquita) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; Cynthia Colin (Kevin) of Miami, Florida; Deborah Hill of Laurel, Maryland; Carolyn Byrd (Rome) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Sonya Byrd of Columbia, SC, ; Lamont Holiday (Cindy) Angier, North Carolina; and Taurus McClean of Linden, North Carolina. He also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He also leaves many loving members of the community who regarded Deacon Byrd as a father figure.
Public Viewing will be held at the Cape Fear A Conference Headquarters, Erwin, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 11:00AM - 11:55AM
Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM, following the guidelines of the facility for entrance and capacity.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
