Ella McNeill

Ms. Ella McNeill, 81, of 328 Hills Lane, Erwin, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022.  The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and  Mrs. Derado McNeill, 328 Hills Lane, Erwin, NC.

Mother Ella was preceded in death by her parents- the late Deacon Leander and Mother Eva Byrd McNeill; brother-  Ernest Byrd; four sisters: Evangelist Christine Chance, Overseer Emma Shaw, Mother Mary Mclean, and Lorean McNeill.

Mother Ella loved the Lord. Although shy and humble, she always had a voice for the Lord and did not mind telling you about the goodness of Jesus. Her favorite scripture, to which, she often quoted was Psalm 103:1, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name.” Mother Ella, along with her siblings and mother, frequently visited the sick in the community and provided an engaging prayer and worship service.

Mother Ella will forever be cherished in the hearts and memories of her daughter- Alicia Jones (Jerry), Clayton, NC; grandchildren- Derado McNeill (Tyliya), Erwin, NC, Toreze Jones, Greenville, NC, Crystal Jones, Clayton, NC; three great-grandchildren: twins- Logan and Landon Jones and Amoni McNeill; brothers- Elder Fred McNeill (Jeanette), Erwin, NC, and Morris McNeill (Meryl), Dunn, NC; sisters- Bernice Borden (Howard), Lillington, NC, Cleotha Bryant, Dunn, NC, and Yvonne Crawford, Erwin, NC; a special niece- Dr. Lillian Sanders (Jerome), Erwin, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at Cape Fear Conference A, Erwin, Sunday, September 25, 2022 @ 2PM, following the guidelines of the facility for entrance and capacity.

Interment will follow in the Bibleway Memorial Gardens, Linden.
