James Godwin

Mr. James Robert Godwin, 92, of 7456 Burnette Road, Godwin, passed away December 23, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories: his sons - Keith Ellis (Araceli) of Laurel, Md., James Earl (Judy) of Charlotte, daughters - Winifred Corpus of the home, Mary Isabella Spencer of Georgia, Marie Washington of Dunn, Priscilla Godwin-Hanson (Andrew) of  Chapel Hill; brother -  James Burnett of Godwin; sister-in-law - Evelyn Godwin of Godwin; Grandsons -  Keith Montray Eason (Janice), Kenneth Ellis(Alina Radoi), Tamel Williams (Jameta), Christopher and Anthony Rhanes; Granddaughters -  Monica Roach, Nakia Corpus, Patrina Corpus, Shala Ellis (Michael), Sharon Nixon, Deloris Lake (Tony), Renee Wells (Joseph); a host of great-grandchildren,  nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be conducted Friday, December 31, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Cape Fear A Conference Headquarters, 25 Beaver Road, Erwin. Masks are required and following the facility’s guidelines for entrance, capacity, and social distancing. There will be no public viewing.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
