James Kenneth Green

Mr. James Kenneth Green, 77, of 7109 Lois Lane, Lanham, MD, formerly of Wake County, passed away November 17, 2021. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Virginia Chance, 1328 Walker Road, Linden, NC.

He was a retired meter reader with the Washington Gas & Light Company.  He received a Letter of Recognition and exemplary service from DC Mayor  Marion Barry for Prevention of Fraud and abuse in the sum of 1.2 million dollars.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, and loved watching football, playing cards, and working on cars.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  his spouse - Bernice McNeil; sons - James K. Green, Eddie A. Banks; daughters - Kimberly E. Green, Courtney A. Banks, Karen A. Workeman; grandchildren - Aiden Jeremiah Green, Logan Gabriel Green; daughter-in-law - Chevon Matthews-Green; sisters - Dorothy Green-Johnson and Marie G Sinclair (James); several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Dafford Funeral Home Chapel, Angier, with no more than 75 people allowed inside. Masks are required to enter.

Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Bragg.
