Mr. James Thomas "Boot" Bell, 71, of 108 Azalea Drive, Spring Lake, passed away June 3, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 47 years - Shirley Elliott Bell of the home; one daughter - Anita E. Jones (Roderick Sr.) of Fayetteville; two sons - Maurice T. Bell (Stephanie) of Spring Lake, Gregory A. Bell (Karen) of Lillington; thirteen grandchildren - Christopher, Roderick Jr. of Fayetteville, Jemel Jones (Moriah) of Spring Lake, Daijah of the home, Le’Meshia Lamison of Charlotte, Latoya Bass of Bunnlevel, Maurice Bell of Florida, Tiffani Bell, Maurissa Bell both of Fayetteville, Alexis, Damiah Bell of Spring Lake, Brianna Carrueth of Pembroke, Jalen Carruth (Kayley) of Lillington; six great grandchildren - Zayvian, Braxton, Nolan, and Graesyn, Ty'Jae, Tamarion; two sisters - Addie McLean of High Point and Lillie Bell Thomas of Bunnlevel; four sisters-in-law - Ida Pearl Bell of Bunnlevel, Mary Crowder of Bunnlevel, Gracie Elliott of New York, Elder Geraldine McKoy of Lillington; two brothers-in-law - Henry Lewis Elliott and Robert Elliott (Addie); one aunt - Lula Bell Ridgell (Harrison II) of Lillington; generations of nieces, nephews, cousins; a plethora of friends and singing colleagues: The Sensational Friendly Five.
The public viewing will be Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Dafford Funeral Home, Dunn, from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Masks are required to enter.
The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm, at the Cape Fear A Conference Headquarters, 25 Beaver Road, Erwin, with masks required and following the facility’s guidelines for entrance, capacity, and social distancing.
Burial will follow in the Anderson Creek Christian Center Memorial Gardens, Linden.
