Obituary

Mr. John D. Killett, affectionately known as "Shorty", 70, of 232 Melissa Drive, Dunn, passed away November 13, 2020.  John was born March 11, 1950 to the late James V. Killett, Sr. and Elma Quick Killett in Sampson County. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in Sampson County, class of 1968.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of nearly 48 years - Carolyn Killett of the home; daughter - Le'Donna Pegues (Ronald) of Fuquay-Varina; sons - Brandon Killett (Jamie) of TN and Joshua Killett (Jamie) of CO; seven grandchildren - Joshua, Je'Leighna, Justone, Zohla, Jaxson, Saige, and Brandon; sisters - Geneva Gerald (Clarence) of Raleigh and Elma McLean (William) of Fayetteville; one aunt - Josephine McLean of Baltimore, MD; three sisters-in-law - Betty Sue Robinson of Newton Grove, Linda Bumpers of Smithfield, and Linda Autry Killett of Godwin; one brother-in-law - Danny Robinson (Sheerie) of Smithfield; one Goddaughter - Alicia N. Robinson of Winston-Salem; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Public viewing will be at the Dafford Funeral Home, Dunn, Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm with no more than 10 individuals inside at one time. Masks are required and practicing social distancing.

Graveside service will be conducted Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 12 Noon at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Dunn, with no more than 50 people present. Masks are required and practicing social distancing.
