Mr. John Curtis Walker, 71, of 3904 Brookhill Road, Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of Bunnlevel, passed away June 4, 2022.
John Curtis Walker, the son of the late Charlie Alton Walker and Eula Mae James-Walker was born on June 4, 1951 in Erwin, NC. He was educated in the Cumberland County school system. At an early age John moved to Newburgh, NY where he resided for numerous years. He became very well known as "Maxie" and he enjoyed life to the fullest. John moved to Baltimore, MD in the early 70's where he and his devoted wife, Esther Crosby Walker, built a lovely life together and united in Holy Matrimony for 47 years. John worked for Conner Eastern Excavating Co, in Forestville, MD for 38 years. He attended Zion Deliverance Center in Baltimore, MD for 10 years.
John leaves to cherish his memories: Son- Eric Walker of Newburgh, NY, three daughter's- Antoinette Walker-Carrington (John) of Charlottesville, VA, Vivica Walker Merritt (Eric Stokes) and Tanisha Walker Merritt of Lorton, VA; three step-children- Katherine Euell (Bobby) of Baltimore, MD, Elsie Ray (Patrick) of Spring Lake, NC and Charles McNeill of Baltimore, MD; 19 grandchildren - Tamara Owens, Tionia Hayes, Eric Walker, Jr., Evan Walker, Eran Walker, James C. McCormick, Latifah Nicholson (Calvin), Ladarian Lasane, Kenneth Crosby, Tony Dunn, Jr., Vincent Ray, Jessica Ray, Kristen Euell, Javon Walker, Jaylen McNeill, Jacqueline Barker, Raymond Tarain, Aliya Tarain, Ryan Tarain; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters - Elaine Crosby-Walker of Fayetteville, Barbara R. (Pollie) Johnson-Walker of Dunn, NC; one brother Gerald Walker (Mary) of Newburgh, NY; three sisters in-love Nellie Rose Walker; Catherine Smith, Mae Bell Crosby; one brother in-love Everrett Crosby; three very special friends Robert Blue Sr.; Milton McLean (cousin); Valencia Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The public viewing will be Thursday, June 16, 2022 @ the Dafford Funeral Home, Dunn, from 1PM - 6PM. Masks are required to enter.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 17, 2022 @ 1PM at Dafford Funeral Home Chapel, Dunn. Masks are required to enter. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
