Mrs. Malinda Stepney Banks, 60, of 318 Village Drive, Apt. C, Sanford, passed away November 15, 2022. The family will receive friends at the home of Jermaine and Marilyn Banks, 206 Tower View Lane, Sanford.
Malinda was born to Ruby and the late John Arthur Stepney on September 13, 1962, along with her twin - Malisha. Malinda was the older of the two instant best friends. Malinda, Malisha and older sister, Denise were part of a dance troupe, Bronx River Street Dancers. They competed locally along with other neighborhood children.
The family relocated to North Carolina where Malinda met Skip. Shortly after they got married and started a family. Malinda took on the role of homemaker where she was the caregiver to her children and host of nieces and nephews from time to time. Once the boys were older, Malinda decided to further her education as well and became a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Skip and Malinda shared 41 years together. Their lives were so intertwined that you did not know one without the other. Their love for their family could not be measured. If you didn't want to know the truth, then don't ask them, because they would give it to you straight, with not chaser!
Skip and Malinda are survived by their four children - Jamel Banks, Jermaine Banks (Marilyn), both of Sanford, Jordan Banks (Kadijah) of Wake Forest, and Humphrey Banks of the home; mother - Ruby Stepney of Sanford; siblings - Marcella L.
