Mr. Melvin T. McLean, Jr., 62, of 1548 Mack St., Spring Lake, passed away, August 3, 2023.

Melvin leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 36 years- Gwendolyn McLean of Spring Lake, NC; son- Antwan McLean of Spring Lake, NC; daughters- Tanisha McLean (Bruce) of Fayetteville NC, and Genice Richardson (Doug) of Spring Lake NC; grandchildren- Javon McLean, Joshua McAllister of Fayetteville, NC, Jasmine Johnson, Jasiah Johnson, Davonta Cotton, Dayanna Richardson, Doug Richardson Jr, Zorey Richardson, all of Spring Lake, NC, Jasmine Richardson, and Alexis Richardson of Lumberton, NC; sisters-Vernell Cameron (Willie), Pamela McLean and Sonya Fikes, all of Spring Lake, NC; brothers- Travis McLean  (Vanessa) of California, Angelo McLean, of Dunn NC, Shawn McLean, of Spring Lake, NC, and Corey McLean (Nona), of Lillington, NC; sisters-in-law- Queen Green, Stella Cameron (Alvin), Mary Lassiter (Roger), all of Sandford, NC, Lillie McIntyre, of Fayetteville, NC and Michelle McLean of Jonesboro, GA; brothers-in-law-  Albert Green (Verta) of Moncure, NC, and Graylyn Green (Rochelle) of Pittsboro, NC; goddaughter- Nia Foster (Remington) of Charlotte, NC; special friends- Rob Murphy, Don King, Prentice McLean and Moses Scroggins; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held at Dafford Funeral Home- Dunn, Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 1PM-5PM. MASKS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

Funeral Service will be held at Lou Chapel Holiness Church #1, Spring Lake, Friday, August 11, 2023 @ 2PM, following the guidelines of the church for entrance and capacity.

Interment will be Wednesday, August 16, 2023, @ 2PM, in the Sandhill State Veterans Cemetery, Spring Lake.
