Mr. Decarus J. Burgess

Mr. Decarus J. Burgess, 40, of 344 Stephanie Street, Linden, passed away November 4, 2023. 

The family will receive friends at the home of Carla Thompson, 167 Cauliflower Lane, Dunn.

Decarus leaves to cherish his memories, his wife- Melissa Burgess, of the home; four children- Christopher Barker (Candice), of Linden, Jacob Barker (Katia), of Perry, GA, Brandon Barker (Katie), of Charlotte, NC, and Sofia Burgess, of Dunn, NC; granddaughter- Milana Barker; seven brothers- Willie Strickland, Jr., of Erwin, NC, Emory Moore (Keyonna), Aldrick Leake, Jermi Devone, of Selma, Freddie Devone, of Smithfield, NC, Curtis Amerson, of Charlotte, BJ Amerson (Charlene), of Benson; five sisters- Carla Strickland (Sean), of Dunn, Caron Devone, of Smithfield, Brandy Amerson, of Clayton, Shantae Leake, and Keshia Leake; special aunt- Scarlette Amerson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held at Dafford Funeral Home Chapel- Dunn, Monday, November 13, 2023, from 11AM-12:55PM. MASKS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1PM., following the guidelines for entrance and capacity.
