Mr. John Ellis Carpenter, Sr.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. John Ellis Carpenter, Sr., 76, of 71 Maple Leaf Court, Lillington, on August 11, 2024.

The family will receive family and friends at the home daily from 5PM-8PM, starting August 12, 2024.

He was a faithful and active member of WBS Christian Center Church in Dunn, where he served as Chairman of the Trustee Board.  John was a truck driver for over 40 years, doing what he loved to do.

Mr. John leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 16 years - Paulette Carpenter, of the home; children- Theresa Heard of New Brunswick, NJ, Sherry Martin (Robert) of Lillington, NC, John Ellis Carpenter, Jr. (Donna) of New Port Richey, FL and Nathaniel Carpenter (Allyah) of Rocky Mount, NC; two sisters- Doretha Carroll of New Brunswick, NJ and Florine Foster (Zack) of South River, NJ; one sister- n-law- Pamela McDougald (Henry) of Lillington, NC; brother-n-law- Kenneth Arnold of Lillington, NC; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren,  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held at Dafford Funeral Home Chapel- Angier, Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 12PM-12:55PM.

Funeral Service will follow @ 1PM, following the guidelines of the chapel for entrance and capacity.

Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Dunn.
