Mr. Richard Junior Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Richard Smith, 67, of 72 Lee Lane, Angier, on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of his niece, Angela White, 154 Roy Adams Road, Angier. 

Richard  leaves to cherish his memories, sisters- Joyce Pugh of Angier, NC, Kaye F. Smith of Dunn, NC, and Carolyn McNeill of Hillside, NJ; one brother- Darryl McNeill of Hillside, NJ; nieces- Angela Purdie White (Melvin), Jocelyn Smith of Angier, NC, Debbie Purdie of Raleigh, NC, and Amy Purdie of Lawndale; nephews- Richard Purdie (Oswanna) of Raleigh, NC and Mitchell Smith of Duncan; three great-nieces- Shaneka Purdie and Andrea Moore of Raleigh, NC and Serenity Smith of Holly Springs, NC; four great nephews- Darius Purdie (Jessica) of Bunnlevel, NC, Jaquaves Purdie, Dominique Purdie and Patrick Purdie of Raleigh, NC; two great-great nieces- Paityn Ingram and KaMiyah Ingram of Raleigh, NC; one great-great nephews- Princeton Purdie of Raleigh, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held at Dafford Funeral Home Chapel, Angier, Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 1PM-5PM.

Funeral Service will be held at Dafford Funeral Home Chapel, Angier, Sunday, September 22, 2024 @ 2PM, following the guidelines of the chapel for entrance and capacity.

Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn, with the appropriate military honors.
