Mrs. Cora Lee (Smith) Cameron

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Cora Cameron, 96, of 4691 Bunnlevel-Erwin Rd., Erwin, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.  The family is receiving friends at the home daily from 3PM - 7PM.

Mother Cora Lee Smith Cameron was born in Harnett County, the youngest child to the late Della Massey Smith and Joseph C. Cameron.  She married Isaac Cameron, and was preceded in death by her husband, daughter - Emily Smith Grady, parents and siblings - Ethel Elliott, Lillie Johnson, Emily Smith, Walter Smith, William "Doc" Dan Smith, Eddie Smith, Annie Smith, Bill Smith, Stella Williams, Leola McLean, and Lovdie McDougald.

Mother Cora joined Zion Wall at an early young age and attended faithfully until her health declined.  She served in various areas including the Mother Board, Floral Club, Home Mission, Combined Chorus, Senior Choir, and Sunday School.

She is survived by: her daughters - Annie Mae Cameron of Durham, and Cora Ann Shore (William) of Winston-Salem; sisters-in-love - Ethel Williams of Dunn, Lucille McNeill of Erwin, Elizabeth Cameron of Sanford, Elizabeth Harris of Bunnlevel, Loraine Freeman (Bernard) of Richmond, VA.; brother-in-love - Earl Cameron (Eleanor) of Erwin;  'adopted' children - James Smith (Veronica) of Erwin, Dorothy Smith, Lena Smith, both of Dunn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a loving church family.

The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 @ 11AM at the Cape Fear A  Conference  Headquarters, Erwin.  The body will lie in state for public viewing from 10AM - 11AM at the Headquarters prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Riverside Community Cemetery.
