It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, Mrs. Ethel Adams, 81, of 609 S. Claiborne Street, Goldsboro, who passed away Friday, January 24, 2025.
She was married to Harvey E. Adams, Jr., who preceded her in death. Mother Adams was a faithful member of White Oak Disciples of Christ Church in Newton Grove and served on the Mission Board.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her three children - Lynetta Reese (Isaac), Steven Ray Adams, and Ramona Denise Hamilton (John), all of California; her grandchildren - Steven Adams Jr., Ryan Roberts, Stephanie Adams, Myles Reese, Je'lon Adams and Kayla Hamilton, also from California; her siblings - Felton Ray (Gerald) of Greensboro, Willie Earl Ray of Goldsboro, and Dora Ray of California; her special niece - Lydia Ray Denning (Gary) of Newton Grove; her cousin - Brenda Norman of Goldsboro, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ethel's legacy of beauty, love, kindness, and generosity, will live on in the lives of the people who knew and loved her.
The Homegoing Celebration for Ethel Adams will be held at White Oak Disciples of Christ Church, Newton Grove, on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1PM. She will lie in state at the church from 12Noon - 1PM before the funeral service. Ethel will be buried alongside her husband at Hillside Cemetery in Newton Grove.
