We are profoundly saddened to announce that Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Dafford, 74, of 215 Winterlochen Drive, Dunn, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Christia Williams Wise of Newton Grove.
She was educated in the public schools of Newton Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. Following her graduation, she was first employed at Morganite, Inc., as a product inspector. Later she was employed as a teller with United Carolina Bank, (predecessor to B B & T Bank) where she was elevated from teller to Customer Service Specialist.
After her marriage to Dallas "Bo" Dafford, Sr., to this union, two siblings were born: Teresa E. Dafford and Dallas L. Dafford, Jr., and the family lived in Dunn. Soon after, Mary joined Bo in the family business and attended Fayetteville Technical Community College where she received her Associate of Arts Degree in Funeral Directing.
Her survivors include: her husband - Dallas L. Dafford, Sr. of the home; daughter - Teresa E. Dafford of Durham; three grandsons - Julian Dafford Humes of Chicago, IL.,, Cameron Dallas Dafford and Caden Leo Dafford, both of Willow Spring; her daughter-in-law - Sadara Ray Dafford of Willow Spring; her sister - Gail (James Robert) Stewart of Goldsboro; brother-in-law - Julius Brackeen of Fayetteville; her sister-in-law - Della Dafford Michaux (Eric Michaux) of Durham; nieces - Kimberly (Lucious) Lester, Anita Brackeen, Whitney Stewart, Ebony Stewart; nephew - Justin Dafford Michaux (Chelsea Dennis), and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Thursday, November 14, 2024 @ 1PM @ the Mt. Pisgah-Harnett Original Free Will Baptist Church, 145 Prospect Road, Erwin, following the guidelines of the church for entrance and capacity. The Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
The services will be livestreamed on the Mt. Pisgah-Harnett Original FWB Church site and the Dafford Funeral Home, Inc. Facebook page.
