Mrs. Mary Bernadette (Wise) Tolson

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Mary Bernadette Wise Tolson's passing on Monday, April 22, 2024, in Clinton, Maryland. Mary, a remarkable woman whose legacy will continue to inspire us all, was known for her infectious laughter and her love for gardening. She is survived by her loving children, Dana Tolson Blake and Donald G. Tolson II, grandchildren, great-grandsons, and numerous friends.

Mary's achievements in her illustrious career, a testament to her dedication and hard work, have left an indelible mark. She began her journey with C&P Telephone Company and Freedmen's Hospital and later joined the District of Columbia Government's Department of Employment Services. Mary served under five mayors and was widely recognized as the "go-to person" in the DC Government. Her remarkable career, politically charged, has left a lasting impact on those around her.

We celebrate Mary's life and legacy and offer our deepest, most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. Her graveside service will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 1PM @ Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Cemetery in Newton Grove, NC. Mary will always be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her work.
