Ms. Shamika LaShawn Pridgen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shamika LaShawn Pridgen born on July 12, 1982. She departed this life on August 29, 2024. Shamika leaves to mourn a host of family and friends including: her two sons- Kwalib Johnson and Kyseen Johnson of Angier, NC; mother- Sharon Pridgen of Durham, NC; sister- Nicole Caldwell (Jeremiah Caldwell) of Lillington, NC; brothers- Tevin Pridgen and Kevin Jackson of Durham, NC; sister-in-law- Rosalia Walker (Rayan Walker) of Raleigh, NC; mother and father-in-law- James and Rosa Johnson of Angier, NC; favorite aunt- Belinda Burnette of Richmond, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Shamika was preceded in death by the love of her life Kimo Johnson and her grandmother Anna Mckiver.

Shamika lived her life unapologetically, spreading joy and warmth wherever she went. Her infectious smile could brighten even the darkest of days, and her love for her family knew no bounds. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

As we mourn her passing, let us remember Shamika for the light she brought into the world and the love she shared with those around her. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was truly cherished and will never be forgotten.
