Ms. Patricia Denise White, 64, of 209 Pittfield Run, Cameron, passed away January 18, 2021. She joined United States Citizenship Immigration Services (USCIS) formerly known as Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) on March 5, 1995. Patricia, who was known as “Pat”, worked at the New York District Office for many years in various positions ranging from Immigration Services Officer, formerly known as District Adjudications Officer, to the District Records Manager. With her strong work ethic values, extensive knowledge of operations and Records program, and her dedication to the mission of the agency, Pat left huge shoes to fill when she transferred to the Raleigh-Durham Field Office to serve as the Records Manager. Pat once said, she would miss leaving behind her long-standing New York friendships, but was grateful for the opportunity to be closer to her family.
Pat transferred to the Raleigh-Durham Field office in 2016. She was truly committed to changing lives every day by working behind the scenes to ensure cases were expeditiously processed to ensure timely decisions. Using her extensive experience as a Records Manager, Pat was able to reduce the records personnel. In addition to serving as the Records Manager, Pat also served as the Congressional Liaison for the Raleigh-Durham Field office maintaining direct communication with congressional offices within the Raleigh-Durham Field office jurisdiction. She worked on high profile and complex cases by providing timely responses to inquiries submitted by Members of Congress and/or their staff. She played a critical role in ensuring that the agency’s mission was fulfilled by overseeing timely responses for service requests via the Service Request Management Tool (SRMT) which resulted in a 98% accurate response rate. As the USCIS representative for the Applications Support Center (ASC), Pat provided oversight of operations to ensure USCIS policies were in compliance. She has been an integral part of the Raleigh-Durham Field Office. Her contributions will always be valued and remembered. Pat was known for: her terrific sense of humor, her caring heart and love for helping others not only at USCIS but as well as in her church community. Most importantly, her love for her family and friends she cherished.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children - TeAusha P. White of Wilmington, DE, Tomika Martin (Michael) of Cameron, Gena Corbitt (Jamaar) of Spring Lake, Daunisa White of Cameron, and Trishana White (Jerome) of Brooklyn, NY; sixteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren; siblings - Johnnie Mae Britton of Pennsylvania, Fred Britton (Tracey) of Atlantic City, NJ, Cynthia Newkirk and Betty Newkirk both of Fayetteville; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
