Rev. Dr. Sheila Anita (Smith) Alford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rev. Dr. Sheila Anita Alford, 68, Statesville, on Thursday, October 31, 2024. 

Rev. Dr. Shelia leaves to cherish her memories, her husband- Reverend Dr. Roger O Alford; siblings- Jatana Marie, Mary, JoAnn, Walter, & Tony; adopted children- Braxton & Anika; nieces and nephews- Monica, Sharon, Ronda, Jonathan, Tabitha, Melanie, Aaron Alexander, Kristopher Wallace, Mario, Kyla, Kyra, Kylique; in-laws- Polly (Walter), Alice (Tony), Charles & Goldie, Carolyn & Wade, Nichelle & Eugene; other relatives- The Holdens – NC, MD, NY; The Smiths – NC, NY; The McNeills – NC, NY; Dr. Sheila McCoy & Johnson Family; adopted family- Becky Smith, Angie Smith, Shirley Robinson,  James & Ida Ashley (Georgia); special friends- Dr. Patricia Hobbs, of DC, Eyvonne Klink, , Jessie Simmons, OK,  Rose Williams, Betty & David Simmons, Janice & William Jackson, Judge Irma Newburn, Director Jervis Jackson, Dr. Susan Odunukwe, The Golden Girls, many associates, colleges, and community leaders, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at Cape Fear Conference A, Erwin, Saturday, November 30, 2024 @ 1PM, following the guidelines of the facility for entrance and capacity.

Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
