Rev. Shirley (Eason) Ray

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Rev. Shirley E. Ray, 74, 310 Melissa Drive, Dunn, on Sunday, December 1, 2024. 

Rev. Shirley leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband- Pastor Floyd Ray of the home; two sons- Ryan (Tamia) of Knightdale and Anthony of the home; bonus twins- Reginald Ruffin (Shenee) of Fayetteville and Regina Cox (Steve) of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren- Jasmine McLeod and Ja’Niqua McLeod of Linden, Dezmond Ray of Fayetteville, Steveania Ross (Terel) of Spring Lake, Isaiah Ray and Austin Ray of Knightdale, NC and Darius Brown (Nadia) of Gainesville, FL; seven great- grandchildren - J’Kaylah, Kyson, JaKobi, Za’Riah, Jaiden, Sa’Vea and Xi’ana; siblings- Mary Curtis, Christine Williams, Joe Eason, Betty Ray, and Robert Eason all of Dunn; sisters-in-law- Janie Burnette (George) and Elsie Burnette of Godwin and Willa Strickland of Clinton; brother-in-law- Louis Ray (Jackie) of Fayetteville; a  and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Public viewing will be held at Dafford Funeral Home, Dunn, Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 1PM-5PM.

Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Zion MB Church, Church, Friday, December 6, 2024 @ 1PM, following the guidelines of the church for entrance and capacity.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion MBC Cemetery, Dunn.
