Robert L. Taylor, Sr.

Mr. Robert L. Taylor, Sr., 76, of 123 Glen Street, Clayton, passed away April 16, 2023.  He was the son of the late Essie Bell Johnson Taylor and James Alfred Taylor of Garner.

Robert attended and graduated from Garner Consolidated High School in Wake County in 1966.  After high school, he worked on Freeman Buffalo's Farm, and then he worked for Governor Moorehead Blind School as a Custodian. He later worked for Thurston Motor Company and from there he worked for John Dobbin Landscaping where was  an excellent landscaper.  He later went to East Garner Middle School where he retired after 30 years of being Head Custodian. 

Robert leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife- Emma Brewington Taylor, of Clayton, NC; four beloved sons- Robert Taylor, Jr. of Clayton, NC, Fred Taylor of Enfield, NC, Arthur Taylor (Evita) of Clayton, NC and Wesley Taylor of Clayton, NC; one daughter- Karen Shepherd (Alexander) of Selma, NC; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one brother- Joseph Taylor (Anna) of Clayton, NC; one sister- Katie Winston of Apex, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held at Dafford Funeral Home Chapel- Dunn, Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10AM-1:55PM. MASKS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

Funeral Service will follow @ 2PM, following the guidelines of the chapel for entrance and capacity.

Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
