Mr. Ronnie Cox, 60, of 8908 Grouse Run Lane, Fayetteville, passed away November 11, 2020. Ronnie was born in the Raven Rock community in Lillington to the late Goldie Mae James and Joe Silas Cox. He graduated in 1979 from Western Harnett High School. He joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 1981 and completed training in Wyoming and New Jersey. He was also employed with Caterpillar, Inc. for 20 years in Sanford.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife - Lisa Cox of Fayetteville; a son - Samuel Cox of Fayetteville; a brother - Miles Kimbrell Cox of Phoenix, Arizona; aunts - Edna Smith of Coats, Norma James of Coats, Rachel James of Coats; uncle - William W. James of Coats; his mother-in-law - Betty Blue Gholston of Wagram; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Public viewing will be held at the Dafford Funeral Home, Angier, Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm, with no more than 10 individuals inside at one time. Masks are required and practicing social distancing.
A Memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Word Education Church, Lillington, with no more than 50 people present. Masks are required and practicing social distancing.
Burial will follow in the James Family Cemetery, Coats.
