Mr. Sherlton Atwood "Chubby" Blunt, 58, of 2860 Walker Road, Linden, passed away September 1, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of 29 plus years - Gwendolyn Chance Blunt; daughters - Porshia Blunt (Shawn Thomas) of Fayetteville, Briauna Blunt of Linden; grandsons - Payton and Braylon Thomas; his loving mother - Herlene Smith Blunt of Bunnlevel; siblings - Gabriel Moore-Smith of Winston-Salem, Fatina Rainey (Tim) of Fuquay-Varina, Denise Jones of Fayetteville, Perry Council, Sr. (Jalesa) of Bunnlevel, Vickie Council of Okinawa, Japan, Clifton Council (Shoinette) of Bunnlevel, Malik Folson (Beverly) of Hope Mills; aunts - Anna Smith of Erwin, Peggy Smith of Bunnlevel, Katherine Blunt of Clayton, Jeanette Blunt of Garner, Aletha Smith of Erwin; uncles - George A. Smith (Catherine) of Erwin, Benjamin Smith (Jesse) of Erwin, Booker T. Smith (Cather) of Fayetteville; brothers-in-law - George L. Chance (Twanda) of Lillington, Curtis Chance of Bunnlevel; sisters-in-law - Samatha Chance of Linden, Teresa Chance McNeill (Jamie) of Sanford; best friend - Wallace Vinston, Jr. of Baltimore MD; aunts-in-law - Mary Bell Swann of Raleigh, Martha Bell Dawson of Bunnlevel; and a generation of nieces, nephews, cousins and his extended family - the Chance and Bell Family (Gwen's Family) and a plethora of friends.

The viewing will be Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the Dafford Funeral Home Chapel, Dunn, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, with no more than 10 individuals at any one time.

The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Dafford Funeral Home Chapel, Dunn, with no more than 50 people present.

Burial will follow in the Riverside Community Cemetery, Gentry Road, Erwin.

Masks are required and practice social distancing.
