Mrs. Vernell Thomas, 82, of 5735 Danville Dr., Fayetteville, passed away May 22, 2023.
Vernell leaves to celebrate her memory, six loving children- Evelyn (Willie) Blue, Angela Crosby, Amy Thomas, Lamont (Bang) Thomas, Deborah (Richard) Evans, and Natasha (Mark) Slaughter; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kathleen McNeill, one brother, Samuel Currie, and a special chosen “brother” Leonard “Pocket” Daniels; two sisters in law- Mattie Currie and Terry Currie; one special aunt- Arletha McNeil; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Public viewing will be held at Dafford Funeral Home- Dunn, Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 1PM-6PM. MASKS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
Funeral Service will be held at Cape Fear Conference A, Erwin, Friday, May 26, 2023 @ 11AM, following the guidelines of the facility for entrance and capacity.
Entombment will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville @ 2PM.
