Mr. Raymond L. Gainey, 72, of 104 Constantine Court, Garner, passed away July 8, 2019.
Survivors: wife - Julia Foy Gainey of the home; children - Edward Lawrence Gainey (Devi) of Clinton, Verlene Gainey-Oates (Thomas) and Jennifer Gainey-Ijeoma (Richard) all of Raleigh and Henry Alonzo Gainey (Alice) of Fuquay-Varina; sisters - Priscilla G. McLamb (Clayton) of Newton Grove, Pearlena G. Whitted (Johnny) of Clinton, Elaine G. Fryar of Springfield, MA, Brenda G. Cooper (Amos) of Durham, Bernie G. Darden (Glen) of Clayton and Eloise G. Godwin (Thaddeus) of Clinton; brothers - Jessie Gainey of Fayetteville, James Gainey (Jean) of Clinton, Mathon Gainey (Wilma) of Dunn, Nathan Gainey (Ernestine) of Fayetteville, Leemon Gainey of Dunn and Cleveland Gainey (Charlene) of Augusta, GA; twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The public viewing will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the Dafford Funeral Home, Dunn, from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm, at the Cape Fear A Conference Headquarters, 25 Beaver Road, Erwin.
