Eugene Purdie

Mr. Eugene Purdie, 70, of 8981 U.S. 401 N., Fuquay-Varina, passed away July 9, 2021. He was the son of the late Robert S. Purdie and Bessie Mae Lewis Purdie. He was educated in the Harnett County School System and served a short time in the United States Army after graduating from high school. He loved cars as well as working on them.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters - Angela Purdie White (Melvin) of Angier, Amy Purdie of Charlotte; sons - Richard Purdie (Oswanna) of Raleigh, and William Purdie of Raleigh; sisters - Elaine Allen of Lillington, Betty Gaskill of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, Mary Goldston (Timothy) of Raleigh, Janet Banks (Eugene) of Raleigh, and Sandra Clark (Darryl) of Willow Spring; brother - Willie Purdie (Mary) of Bunnlevel; four grandsons - Darius Purdie of Angier, Jaquares Purdie, Dominique Purdie and Patrick Purdie of Raleigh; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Dafford Funeral Home Chapel, Angier. Masks are required for entrance and no more than 75 people present.
