Mr. Nathan Gainey, 78, of 159 Buckingham Avenue, Fayetteville, passed away October 3, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of 55 years - Ernestine Gainey; children - Regina Gainey Woodard of Fayetteville, Reginald Nathan Gainey of West Palm Beach, Florida, Douglas Latrell Gainey of Fayetteville (special friend Danyel Edwards), Barrett Lance Gainey of the home; grandchildren - Marissa Marcianelli ( Nicolas), Laporcha Gainey (special friend Hoderick), Johannes Woodard (special friend Maliyah), Jonathan Woodard (Erika), Timothy Gainey, Tristan Gainey; great grandchildren - Camilla Marcianelli, Markian Marcianelli, Nikiya Woodard, Haven Woodard, Karter and Hoderick Jr.; sisters - Priscilla McLamb (Clayton), Pearlena Whitted (Johnnie), Elaine Fryar, Brenda Cooper (Amos), Bernie Darden (Glen), Eloise Godwin (Rev. Thaddeus); brothers - Jessie Gainey, James Gainey (Jean), Mathon Gainey (Wilma), Leemon Gainey, Cleveland Gainey (Charlene); in-laws - Jude Gainey, Darryl McKoy, Louise McBride, Eddie Draughon ( Ada), Milton Draughon (Emily), Jerry Daraughon (Lorraine); aunt - Martha King and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
The viewing will be Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the Dafford Funeral Home, Dunn from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM with no more than 10 individuals at any one time.
The funeral service will be conducted Monday, October 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Dafford Funeral Home Chapel, Dunn, with no more than 50 people present.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
Masks are required and practice social distancing.
