Mr. Phillip Andrew Watts, Sr., 42, of 401 N. 12th Street, Erwin, passed away November 25, 2022. The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, Grace M. Watts,403 S.15th Street, Erwin, daily between the hours of 3 - 7PM. Masks are required!
Phillip, known to many as "Philly Phil" was born on January 21, 1980 to Eric Dexter and Grace McLean Watts. He graduated from Triton High School in 1998 and continued his education at Everest College studying Accounting. He was a great sportsman - he played football and basketball, but he excelled in baseball. He played on several Dunn All-Star teams. He attended Good News Revival Center Church that started on East Jackson Street in Dunn. Phillip was a praying man. He often discussed things he asked God to do for him. His response, "Ma, He did it for me"!
He leaves to cherish his memories: one son - Phillip Andrew Watts, Jr. of the home; two daughters - Xaviona Victory Marie Lambert of Wade, and Keva Michelle Watts of Dunn; parents - Eric Watts and Grace McLean Watts; three sisters - Stacey Sanders (James), Erica Watts and Satara McLean; five brothers - Justin, Ashley, and Bryant McLean, William McGill, and Kashen Cook; paternal grandmother - Dorothy Watts; four nieces, two nephews, one uncle, three great aunts, two great uncles, childhood friends and hanging partners - Brian Matthews, Ronald Allen, Antwain Dozier, Cornell Taylor, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 3, 2022 @ 1PM @ the Cape Fear A Conference Headquarters Facility, Erwin. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
