Ruby Carter Owens

Mrs. Ruby Carter Owens, 77, of 115 South Isabella Street, Coats, passed away September 25, 2020. She was a graduate of Shawtown High School in Lillington. She was employed with St. Mary's College, Blackmon's Catering, and retired from the Harnett County Detention Center in 2019. She leaves to cherish her memories: husband - Willie Owens of the home; daughters - Lorraine Mathias of South Dakota, Renee Nash (Alfred) of Gastonia; son - Gregory Vines of Carthage; sisters - Carolyn Carter of Fuquay-Varina, Deborah Blackmon of Bunnlevel; brother - Michael Carter (Carrie) of Fuquay-Varina; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild - Jamarion McNeill of the home; 20 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be at the Dafford Funeral Home Chapel, Dunn, Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm with masks required and no more than 10 individuals inside at one time, practicing social distancing.

Graveside service will be conducted Friday, October 2, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the St. Timothy Church and Outreach Ministries Cemetery, 1810 Byrd's Pond Road, Erwin. Masks will be required and practicing social distancing. 

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
